Lord Varahadeva was the titular Deity of King Vikramaditya who was a Vaisnava. Hence the image of Lord Varaha was inscribed as the Royal symbol and placed on all government related articles including seals, flags, etc. Here we see an image from the 3rd Canto Srimad Bhagavatam which depicts Lord Krsna in His divine incarnation as Lord Varaha. Lord Varaha is fighting with the great demon Hiranyaksa and thus saves the earth planet (Bhudevi) by killing this demon.
