The 10th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam recounts an incident from the past-times of Lord Krsna when He was a child. Lord Brahma had heard that the Supreme Lord had appeared in Vrndavana and wanted to see for himself. On investigating he only saw a young child playing the part of a cow herd. Lord Brahma attempted to display his mystic potency but was completely defeated by the Lord. At this point Lord Brahma realized he had made a grevious offence to his worshipable Lord and begged for forgiveness.

So it is sometimes seen that persons think themselves to be much greater than they really are when it comes to changing astrological standards such as the length of the year.
